Holiday Recreation Center, Inc. and Mansfield’s
Holiday Hill Day Camp were founded in 1960 by Lloyd and
Gwen Duff. It is a privately owned, family business that
embodies the vision and spirit of its founders. Currently
under the direction of the Duff’s daughter Wendy
and her husband, Dudley Hamlin, the camp has gained the
trust of three generations of families to mentor their
children, to provide for their physical and emotional
safety, and to impart valuable life skills by serving
them through the social and recreational activities which
abound at summer camp.
In addition to the camp, the summer recreational needs
of area families and organizations have been met with
programs of pool and tennis memberships, and catered
group picnics and outings. The ropes course at the facility
is used year-round for educational, developmental and
therapeutic programs involving personal and team challenge
activities for a variety of groups.
Through both innovative and traditional programming,
Holiday Recreation Center has evolved and grown steadily
each year, contributing to the education and recreational
enjoyment of thousands of people each season.
